Who are we?

We live in Kansas City, Missouri where we are on staff at the International House of Prayer (IHOP). Jocelyn is a full-time student at Longview Community College where she is working towards a Nursing degree. We both moved to Kansas City in the fall of 2003 to attend the Forerunner School of Ministry (FSM). We completed the 4-year Apostolic Preaching Program in May 2007. We were married on August 5, 2006.

Ian was born in Toronto, Canada, and has lived in Stayner, Canada; Akron, Ohio; and San Luis Obispo, California. He completed a YWAM DTS in Northern Ireland in 2002-03 and traveled to Constantsa, Romania to with street children as part of this program. He enjoys reading about history and theology, and playing music. He desires to be a faithful disciple of Jesus and to teach the word of God with power.

Jocelyn was born and raised in Southington, Connecticut before moving to Kansas City. She has traveled on short-term mission trips, which have confirmed the calling to ministry she has felt in her heart since a young age. She enjoys all kinds of forms of expressing the Word of God, whether through preaching, prophesying or art. She desires to be faithful in intercession and serving those in need.

What do we do at IHOP?

  1. Section Leading — Ian is a Section Leader at the Justice Prayer Room (JPR) for the 6am-noon section. The JPR is IHOP’s 2nd prayer room which functions as a training room for worship leaders, singers, musicians and prayer leaders. As a Section Leader, Ian oversees the room to ensure that the worship team is fully functioning in their role of leading people into enjoyable prayer and intercession. He is able to instruct and encourage the worship teams as they grow and learn how to lead prayer meetings. This is a challenging but rewarding position.
  2. Forerunner School of Ministry — Ian is the Academic Administrator at FSM. He enjoys serving the school as it continues to grow and become a training place for messengers of the gospel and the return of the Lord.
  3. Intercession — In the prayer room, we join those present in interceding for the Church in Kansas City and worldwide. We believe that justice will be established on the earth through prayer and fasting. Intercession is an integral component of missions and seeing the Church come into fullness.
  4. Bible Study — We are devoted to gaining a deeper understanding of what God says to us through His word. We want to have deep insight into the truth of His word so we can instruct many. We spend our time studying the Bible so we can be more effective in prayer, discipleship, and living in obedience. We devote ourselves to worshipping Jesus through Bible reading, Bible study, and contemplative prayer.
  5. Pre-Natal Prayer — IHOP offers prayer for expectant mothers and Jocelyn helps one day a week.
